due to extreme food shortages within the isis controlled neighborhoods of mosul, suliman has only been fed rice water for the past 4 months. 

with residents streaming into the camp from mosul the medical team is seeing an increasing number of malnourished children. according to recent reports, people trapped within isis-held districts are existing on rice and flour water and some have turned to eating grass and pets. 

several hundred thousand civilians are still trapped within the old city of mosul facing extreme food and electricity shortages. iraqi forces with coalition support are closing in on mosul’s old city. the still occupied old city will be isis’s last stand; due to the density of the neighborhood, fighting is expected to pose extreme threats to the nearly 200,000 trapped civilians
