a bad day to be juan by Maranie Staab

it was a bad day to be juan, a rebel soldier, during a simulation at the 2016 @conflictphotographyworkshops in andalusia, spain. (in the same week i learned how to navigate hostage situations, security checkpoints and emergency first aid ... as well as the importance of a good bivy bag, a headlamp and camaraderie among fellow photographers)

jason p. howe by Maranie Staab

happy birthday to this guy, jason howe, the man, the myth, the legend and the person responsible for the incredibly important experience that is the @conflictphotographyworkshops in andalusia, spain. i I am forever grateful to jason howe for the tireless work that he does in putting together the CPW; the week was one that i will never forget and that will undoubtedly influence my life going forward. . (after the workshop was completed several of us stuck around to explore the nearby town of gaucin and to enjoy a few moments of relaxation)

taking a momentary break from posting from my cache of conflict photography photos to share a snap of one of the best dudes i know @nicksmarto in his basement turned retro hangout. with a brilliant mind and a good soul this guy is one of a small handful who i am continuously thankful to call a friend.
