reid feather, age 90. / by Maranie Staab

reid feather, age 90.

reid is a World War II veteran and was one of many who came out to celebrate independence day and observe the parade held earlier today in sewickly.

for me, he was a reminder as to why we even have this "holiday" -- the day is to be more than cookouts, flag merchandise and apparel, and another reason to drink. the fourth of july asks that we at least pause to give thought, consideration and appreciation to a day that marks america becoming a sovereign nation and to those who have fought, over the years, to allow us to pursue life, liberty and happiness.
