volunteer school teachers [uganda] / by Maranie Staab

the entirely unpaid, volunteer teachers in charge of the instruction of 150+ children line up for a quick photo op in the village of opucet, uganda.
while there, our team helped to bring clean water to the village which was an integral step in obtaining funding for the construction of a physical school building. to date, and until funding and eventual construction can be completed, the students are taught in fields and under trees.
bad weather, harvest season, teen marriage and the need for children to work in order to help support their families are only a few of the many obstacles that stand between ugandan youth and education.
