a road to lake victoria / by Maranie Staab

this is the road that i walked and ran every day during my third week in uganda. after a busy two weeks of traveling around the country working with our team i opted to have a third, solo week to explore further and to really just reflect on what i had experience thus far in africa. the path went from the "main road" (that connected entebbe and kampala), passed where I was staying, and then wove for about 2 miles through a series of huts, small shops, an orphanage and several small school before dumping out into a field from which you were rewarded with an incredible view of lake victoria. it is by walking this path and engaging with as many people that were willing that i was fortunate enough to capture so many portraits and experience a slower paced, more nuanced ugandan lifestyle.
